Basil AlKiswani
Founder & Instructor
I have been teaching Arabic as a foreign language for 8 years, using methods as varied as the Growing Participant Approach (GPA), Circling, and the Survival approach. My teaching has been both teacher-led and student-led, depending on my students, but either way my aim is the same, to teach the Arabic language in a fun and easy way. I like to keep things simple and enjoyable, from beginner level to advanced level.

I studied colloquial Jordanian Arabic in Amman for 5 years, in 3 different language centers before Jabal. Jabal Center is by far my favourite! This place has such a “feel-good”, arty, creative and cultural vibe to it. And the teachers are so professional, all of them. Basel has very high standards and has set the tone here with his quality of teaching. For all these reasons it’s my biggest joy to work here and be a part of this beautiful team.

I am a passionate Arabic teacher for non-native speakers. I am always excited to introduce our culture to foreigners and learn more about them. I majored in languages, and my passion for languages and different cultures is what led me to teach Arabic. I love the GPA system, which we use at Jabal Center. I find it an excellent approach and feel it helps inspire students to give it their all. I love life and people and teaching!

I have been teaching Arabic to non-native speakers for 7 years. Introducing our customs and cultural traditions to people from so many different countries and backgrounds is something I love doing.
